NZLF's 2016 Distinguished Visiting Fellow - Professor Graham Virgo from University of Cambridge

PROFESSOR GRAHAM VIRGO is visiting New Zealand during August as the New Zealand Law Foundation’s 2016 Distinguished Visiting Fellow.

While in New Zealand he will be hosted by the Faculty of Law at the University of Otago and tour all law schools giving staff seminars and public lectures.

Professor Virgo is a Professor of English Private Law in the Faculty of Law at the University of Cambridge. He writes and researches in the fields of Criminal Law; Equity and Trusts and the Law of Restitution. He has been a Fellow of Downing College since 1989, where he read Law as an undergraduate.

  • Conscience in Equity: a new Utopia – on the role of conscience and unconscionability in the equitable jurisdiction
  • Justifying the Law of Restitution – a case study in the nature of judging
