{"id":8187,"date":"2017-06-29T21:52:44","date_gmt":"2017-06-29T21:52:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lawfoundation.org.nz\/?p=8187"},"modified":"2017-07-26T00:08:32","modified_gmt":"2017-07-26T00:08:32","slug":"nzlfs-2017-distinguished-visiting-fellow-professor-stephen-smith-from-mcgill-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lawfoundation.org.nz\/?p=8187","title":{"rendered":"*NZLF&#8217;s 2017 Distinguished Visiting Fellow &#8211; Professor Stephen Smith from McGill University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PROFESSOR STEPHEN SMITH is visiting New Zealand during August as the New Zealand Law Foundation&#8217;s 2017 Distinguished Visiting Fellow.<\/p>\n<p>While in New Zealand he will be hosted by the Faculty of Law at AUT and tour all law schools giving staff seminars and public lectures.<\/p>\n<h5>Professor Smith is a Professor in the Faculty of Law at McGill University, where he where he teaches primarily in the fields of private law (common and civil law) and legal theory. His research is mainly in the areas of private law and private law theory. He is the author of Contract Theory (2004, OUP) and co-author of Atiyah&#8217;s Introduction to the Law of Contract, 6th ed. (2005, OUP).
