The \u2018New Thinking on Sustainability Conference’<\/a> is being held by the Earth Law Alliance Aotearoa NZ<\/strong> and the German Australian Pacific Lawyers Assn, <\/strong>and hosted by the NZ Centre for Public Law at VUW from 14-16 Feb. The New Zealand Law Foundation is providing funding support for keynote speaker costs.<\/p>\n The conference will bring together a new generation of environmental academics and practitioners focused on achieving true sustainability in our laws, most notably through an alternative ‘earth-centred’ approach; one that is new to mainstream environmental law in NZ.<\/p>\n Presentations will be given by leading experts in \u2018new environmental law’ from New Zealand, the United States and Australia. Keynote speakers and addresses include:<\/p>\n The conference aims to introduce concepts of Earth Law to a wide audience, not only via the conference itself but also via the publication of conference proceedings, via podcasts from the conference and via free side events aimed at the wider public.* <\/p>\n .<\/p>\n *Proceedings will be published in a special issue of NZ Journal of International Law, podcasts will be accessible on the NZ Centre of Public Law web site, and free side events will include a Wild Law Workshop and Debate and an Earth Law Symposium.
