The Victoria University Faculty of Law will host the Conference ‘Recalibrating Behaviour: Smarter Regulation in a Global World’ on 23-24 April 2013. Keynote speakers include Professor Fiona Haines<\/a> from the School of Social and Political Sciences at University of Melbourne and Professor Jonathon B Wiener<\/a> from the Nicholas School of the Environment and the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University.<\/p>\n

The conference aims to advance the dialogue on regulatory reform in New Zealand using research from the New Zealand Law Foundation’s Regulatory Reform Project. The project started in 2010, led by Professor Susy Frankel, and comprises a multidisciplinary team of researchers from Victoria University’s Faculty of Law, New Zealand Institute of Economic Research and Chapman Tripp. It is the second largest research project the Law Foundation has funded to date.<\/p>\n

The catalyst for the project was the theme that \u2018smarter regulatory processes and ultimately better regulation should result in both economic and social benefits for New Zealanders’.<\/p>\n
