Thurs 15 Oct, 1pm-2pm: Open Law NZ – discussion and demonstration of New Zealand’s new, free legal research platform<\/a><\/h5>\n

Find out about how Open Law NZ can help with finding and analysing large volumes of legal information online. E.g. court decisions in New Zealand.<\/p>\n

Mon 2 Nov, 11am-12pm: Preparing For “Deepfakes” and the Synthetic Media of tomorrow<\/a><\/h5>\n

Tom Barraclough and Curtis Barnes share their Law Foundation-funded report and research findings about the wide-ranging legal, social and policy issues concerning deepfakes and synthetic media – that is, audio-visual manipulations used to put words in people’s mouths, portray people doing things they never did, copy faces and voices etc.

\nLegal practitioners, law teachers and legal researchers are invited to attend these presentations and participate in the Q&A sessions.<\/p>\n
