Leading Constitutional Lawyer Professor Alan Page gives public addresses on "Brexit" and "How we are Governed"

Professor Alan Page, one of Scotland’s leading constitutional lawyers at the University of Dundee, is visiting New Zealand this month. He is one of many international speakers the Law Foundation is supporting this year.

 

While in New Zealand Professor Page is being hosted by the University of Auckland. He has given a number of presentations:

  • Thurs 6th April – a public address at the University of Auckland with Professor Paul Craig, from Oxford, titled “Leaving Europe: The Legal and Political Implications of Brexit”
  • Fri 7th April – a lunchtime public address at VUW titled “How we are Governed” with commentators Andrew Butler and Mamari Stephens
  • Tues 11th April – a lunchtime seminar at Crown Law.

 

Professor Page is presently undertaking a study of comparable-sized Parliamentary systems and investigating the appropriate balance between political and judicial controls on governmental power.
