Coach Associate Professor Selene Mize, from the Otago Law School, accompanied the team and assisted with training sessions leading up to the event. She says the competition provides an important opportunity for law students to interact with those from other countries, and to tackle challenging client counselling situations that greatly improve their skills.

The VUW team had previously won the Russell McVeagh National Client Interviewing Competition entitling them to represent NZ at this event.

Law Foundation funded the team’s costs associated with taking part in the event, including the training, to the value of $15,000.
